Sept 2011 -
The San Leandro Marina Dog Park will be completed in the next week and they will be working on final touches (Signage, Dog Park Rules, etc.) before the ceremony. Invitations and flyers are on it's way. As soon as I receive them from the Recreation and Parks Commission, I'll pass it on. In the meantime...
Please SAVE THE DATE for the Opening Ceremony and Dedication scheduled for Saturday, September 24th at 11am.

If you are not a member of our Facebook group, please join us...Four Paws Society. This will give you more frequent updates and ongoing announcements. We have been following the progress of the dog park construction and will continue to post pictures to show the work being done. See group photo album named "San Leandro Dog Park Construction"
We send out email updates and update our website as time permits but more frequent updates will be on Facebook.
July 2011 -
The contractors are a week behind schedule but they started work at the site on Monday, July 25th. They started by putting up temporary fencing around the entire area, including up to the edge of the shoreline trail where the emergency access roadway will be relocated to.
They finally did break ground on Thursday, July 28th and begun building the new access roadway.

June 2011 -
The San Leandro Marina Dog Park will be completed in September 2011!
Based on the contractors’ current schedule below are a few key dates:
May 2011 -
The San Leandro Marina Dog Park is still scheduled to be be completed this Summer (July/August). Ground breaking is expected to be in June and construction will take 30-60 days.
February 2011 -
At the February 8, 2011 Facilities and Transportation Committee, the Engineering and Transportation Department provided the Committee with an overview of the project and the draft plans. They will be making a presentation to the Recreation and Parks Commission (RPC) on Wednesday, March 2nd
June 2010 -
At the June 7, 2010 City Council Meeting, the Mayor and City Council unanimously approved the Budget for the next fiscal year (July 2010-June 2011). The Marina Dog Park was included in the Capital Improvements Projects budget with funding allocated from the Park Development Fees. The $312,000 (option 2) design selected by the community.
THE TIME FRAME FOR THE BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION WILL BE EARLY TO MID SPRING (BECAUSE OF WEATHER). THE DOG PARK SHOULD BE OPEN BY SUMMER 2011.
APRIL 2010 -
THE CITY COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE APPROVED THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS LIST FOR THE CITY'S NEXT FISCAL YEAR (JULY 2010-JUNE 2011). FUNDING FOR THE MARINA DOG PARK WAS INCLUDED UNDER THE PARK DEVELOPMENT FUNDS (PARK IN-LIEU FEES). FINAL APPROVAL BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL WILL BE IN JUNE.

THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATIONS. THE MARINA DOG PARK WAS PART OF THE TOP 10 PARK PROJECTS THAT WERE SELECTED BY THE COMMUNITY AND PRESENTED TO THEM.

- July 18 - Start work at the site beginning with moving the access roadway
- August 10 - Fence and concrete work starts
- August 16 - Installation of shade structures and other site furnishings
- September 7 - Completion on 9/7 or about
